So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years. Then He revived him. He said, 'How long have you remained [dead]?' The man said, 'I have remained a day or part of a day.' But actually he had remained one hundred years. Allah [says], 'We have put shackles on his two eyes and tongue. And this is how We recompense the wrongdoers." Uqaab refers to the man in the story, emphasizing the power and mystery of God's ability to bring life back to things that seem dead or lost.
