Sohrab

Protector, fighter, warrior of the faith

The name Sohrab is of Persian origin, and is renowned in the Persian epic, "The Story of Rostam and Sohrab," which is a chapter in the larger poem known as the "Shahnameh" by the Persian poet Ferdowsi. In this story, Sohrab is Rostam's son from his love affair with a noblewoman who disguised herself as a man. Sohrab grows up to become a brave and mighty warrior, unaware of his true identity as the son of Rostam.
