Salaamun

The Islamic name "Salaamun" is rooted in the Arabic language and is commonly used as a peaceful greeting and a sign of respect among Muslims. When spoken or written, it is often accompanied by the hand gesture known as the "Salaam" gesture, where the index and middle fingers are held together and the other fingers are curled to form a fist. This gesture symbolizes the unity and oneness of God (Tawheed) and is a token of goodwill, as it is believed that making this gesture and uttering the word "Salaam" intends peace and blessing upon the person being greeted.
