Mutahhir

A Mutahhir is someone who strives to purify their soul, mind, and body, and therefore, symbolizes spiritual devotion and commitment.

Historically, in various Islamic contexts, the term Mutahhir was used to refer to someone who has undergone a ritual purification, either physically or spiritually. For instance, during the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) time, Mutahhir referred to a person who had gone through the process of 'aqiqah, which involves the shaving of an infant's head and the feeding of the infant with milk and meat, symbolizing the purification of the child. In another context, Mutahhir also signified an individual who had undertaken spiritual purification through performing acts of kindness, good deeds, and seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT.
