Marwaana

The name is associated with the fragrance of Jannah (Paradise) in Islamic tradition.

Marwaana is not a common Islamic name, yet it holds significant cultural importance, particularly in reference to the Hajj pilgrimage. During the rituals, pilgrims walk between the two small hills called Al-Safa and Al-Marwah, commemorating Hajar's desperation to locate her lost son Ishmael, who was lost in the desert. As Hajar ran between these hills in search of her son, herself eventually collapsing from thirst in the middle of the valley, God provided her with the miracle of the Zamzam well, which continues to quench the thirsts of pilgrims today. This repetitive process of walking between the hills, known as Sa'y, holds symbolic importance in acknowledging and commemorating this key moment in Islamic history. Marwaana, as it represents a beautiful or fragrant place, might evoke thoughts towards the lush and tranquil landscapes of the Holy Land and the blessings that are bestowed upon its sacred grounds.
