Madiinah

A place of peace and refuge, mentioned in the Quran.

Madiinah is a legendary city in Islamic history, famous as the second holiest city in Islam, after Makkah. It is the capital city of the province of Al Madinah Al Munawwarah in Saudi Arabia. Situated in the Hejaz region in the western part of the Arabian Peninsula, this city has been historically significant as the place where Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions migrated after facing persecution in Makkah, and established a new community based on Islamic values and principles. Madinah was the first Muslim state with a formal constitution, the Constitution of Medina, which outlined the rights and responsibilities of its citizens, regardless of their race, religion or tribe. This city has been a center of learning and knowledge, preserving Islamic history, culture and heritage. Today, it is a major tourist destination, attracting millions of pilgrims and tourists from around the world every year.
