Kharijaht

The name "Kharijaht" (pronounced khah-ree-jah-th) has historical and cultural significance within the Islamic world. It is most commonly associated with the Kharijites, an extremist sect in early Islamic history who believed in the principle of "al-irjā" (the power to decide right and wrong), and that this power lay in the hand of every Muslim, not just the caliph or religious authorities. They believed in the right of individuals to engage in self-defense and rebellion against what they perceived to be unjust rule or corrupt leaders. This ideology led to several armed rebellions and intense political upheaval in the early Islamic world. While the name "Kharijaht" has negative connotations within Islamic history, it reflects a significant period of political and societal evolution within the Islamic community.
