Hanfi

A name that embodies devotion and love for the Prophet.

The Hanafi school of thought, to which the name Hanfi holds reference, is one of the oldest and most widely practiced schools of Islamic jurisprudence. Originating in the late 7th century, it was founded by Imam Abu Hanifah (602-670 CE). Hanafi scholars contributed significantly to Islamic scholarship and jurisprudence, developing principles of Islamic law and shaping the Muslim community's legal and religious practices. Hanafis are found in various regions of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, with a significant presence in both the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia. Despite its geographical spread and diversity, it has maintained a strong cultural and intellectual identity, contributing to the richness and diversity of Muslim tradition. Importantly, Hanafi legal and ethical principles continue to inform contemporary Muslim discourses and debates on matters ranging from familial relationships, commerce, and social justice.
