Daphna

A symbol of faith and transformation.

The name Daphne originally comes from Greek mythology and carries a rich cultural history. Daphne was a beautiful and chaste nymph who was pursued by the god Apollo. To avoid his advances, Daphne asked her father, the river god Ladon, to protect her. Apollo, in his rage, sent a liar (a serpent) to attack Daphne. In her distress, Daphne called out to her god, and escaped Apollo's grasp by being transformed into a laurel tree. Laurel wreaths were later worn by poets and victors as a symbol of dedication to Apollo and victory.
